John Thompson - Modern Course for the Piano
This graded piano method presents interesting pieces with good fingering advice & helpful background information. I loved it as a young student.

Much More difficult than the first two parts
This book, although useful started out with a bang. Unlike Thompson's first two books of the series, this one suddenly gets more difficult using more technical skills & theory than the other books. Needless however, the first two books did not prepare me for the level of playing needed to play a couple of the songs, but with practice I was able to handle it and master it.

Still a great tool for learning piano
After reviewing this book for use with my piano students, it brought back memories of when I was a youngster learning the piano. Nice selection of pieces. I still remember learning most of the songs. I like the added preludes at the back of the book for preparatory studies and the extra notes about the composers and type of pieces.

Great piano selections
Great book with wonderful musical selections. My music teacher said these John Thompson books were the best to teach from. .I bought this book as a gift for a friend who wanted it. I still have the original one I used I used when i took piano lessons between 1958-1961.

At age 78, having advanced far beyond this book, it has been a favorite of mine since I was 8 yrs. old. The arrangements are simple, melodic and beautiful, and there is something for everyone.
