Jig Bassoon - Sheet Music

The Jig for Bassoon and Tuba was composed in the mid-1980s for a recital Kirk presented with his brother David (currently solo tuba with the Houston Symphony). There is a dearth of original material for this combination of instruments, so Lewis Kirk decided to enrich the repertoire with a piece of his own creation. According to Kirk, he chose the jig dance form in honor of one of his grandmothers, who was Irish.
