Insightful for Flutists and Arrangers
While this collection is purely for solo flute, the transcriptions of Ian Anderson's iconic lines are superb. As a collaborative musician, I find the melodic intricacy and rhythmic drive of these Jethro Tull solos fascinating for understanding their structure and potential voice-leading. There's no written piano accompaniment, so an accompanist would need to create their own texture, but the solos provide an excellent foundation for any flutist preparing to perform with a band.

Excellent for Advanced Student Repertoire
This collection of Ian Anderson's flute solos is a fantastic resource for intermediate to advanced students. The transcriptions are clear and accurate, making it excellent for developing advanced reading skills and rhythmic precision often found in progressive rock. While some sections are challenging, the engraving quality is high, which aids in readability. A few more fingering suggestions would be a nice addition, but overall, it's a very rewarding and educational book for dedicated students.

Pure Jethro Tull Fun!
Finally, the Jethro Tull flute solos by Ian Anderson! It's such a joy to play these iconic tunes and actually sound like the record. While some pieces are quite challenging and definitely require dedicated practice, the sheer fun of tackling 'Bungle in the Jungle' or 'Living In The Past' makes it incredibly worthwhile.
