The Lenten hymn, “Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross”, is arranged in simple hymn form for a beginning handbell choir and uses ten handbells, C5 - D6. Two options are included: one with only handbell pitches and the other with pitches and verses. It can be helpful to a handbell choir to have the words included when learning a hymn. When used as an anthem, our choir sometimes alternates playing with singing and sometimes rings and sings simultaneously.
