He was a member of the orchestra in Épernon of Duke Louis Antoine de Pardaillan de Gondrin (1707-1743). Since some of his works also provide bassoon as an alternative to flute, Braun probably played both instruments.Between 1728 and 1740 several of his works were printed in Paris, including 4 books with sonatas for flute and basso continuo. There are also Sonates en trio for flutes, violins or oboes and continuo, as well as sonatas for two flutes without bass and other works.Das Leben von Jean Daniel Braun ist weitgehend unbekannt.
