De Duitse componist en arrangeur Manfred Schneider, jarenlang werkzaam als muzikant bij het Heeresmusikkorps 300 te Köln, is ondertussen een bekende naam in de wereld van de lichtere blaasmuziek in Duitsland en daarbuiten. In de Molenaar catalogus vind je reeds o.m. de ouverture Upside Down, Song of Freedom, de ritmische studie Rock and Go en de populaire Rock Symphonie. Schneider blijft het uiteraard in het moderen genre zoeken, dit keer gaat hij meer de jazzy toer op. De driedelige Jazz Suite begint met een prettige Jazz Wals; het rustiger tweede deel is een Jazz Ballade, terwijl het slotdeel een uitbundige Jazz Samba is. Een goed bezette slagwerklessenaar en een piano zorgen voor de typische jazz sfeer.

The German composer and arranger Manfred Schneider has been playing for many years with the military band Heeresmusikkorps 300 at Cologne. In the meantime he got a reputation as composer of light symphonic music for concert band in Germany and abroad. In the Molenaar Edition catalogue you find already several of his compositions, such as Upside Down, Song of Freedom, the rhythmical study Rock and Go and the most popular Rock Symphonie. Schneider is well at ease in today's musical styles and this time he was inspired by jazz music. The three-part Jazz Suite starts with a nice jazz waltz; the more quiet second part is a fine jazz ballad, whereas the final part is an exuberant jazz samba. A com-plete percussion section and a piano will provide the typical jazz spirit.

Depuis quelque temps il s'est fait un nom comme composi-teur de musique pour orchestre à vents en Europe. Dans le catalogue des Editions Molenaar vous trouvez entre autres l'ouverture Upside Down, Song of Freedom, l'étude rythmique Rock and Go et la très populaire Rock Symphonie. Schneider s'est manifestement spécialisé dans la musique symphonique légère et cette fois-ci il a choisi la musique de jazz. La Jazz Suite en trois parties débute par une agréable valse de jazz; la deuxième partie, plus calme est une ballade de jazz et la partie finale est une exubérante samba de jazz. Inzwischen hat er in Deutschland und in anderen europäischen Ländern einen guten Ruf als Komponist leichtsinfonischer Blasmusik. Schneider bevorzugt offensichtlich die modernen Genres und diesmal ist er von Jazzmusik inspiriert worden. Die dreiteilige Jazz Suite fängt mit einem schönen Jazz Walzer an; der ruhige zweite Teil ist eine Jazz Ballade, der dritte Teil ist eine ausgelassene Jazz-Samba. Eine vollständige Gruppe von Schlaginstrumenten und ein Klavier garantieren einen typischen Jazzcharakter.
