Too much focus on chords
I enjoy Jakes music, but as a lesson book, I would think this book should cover more areas. I feel half of the book is about chord and strumming techniques. There is no mention of major scales, harmony, or any music theory. The instruction videos are nice and approachable. But, again, for chords. There are a few transcripts of Jakes songs. Yet, I dont see how just doing chord exercises can get to the level of playing his songs. For a book that bears his name and the word teach, I would like to see some lessons that incorporate melody and chords in Jakes style.
