A Piano accompaniment track is also available.

A Piano accompaniment track is also available.Jacaranda is a very tall tree with a purple bloom which is native to South America. This tree lines the streets of Buenos Aires which is considered by many to be the birthplace of the Argentinian Tango.Scored for Flute, Clarinet, Bassoon and Piano, this original Tango has two main sections- a passionate and animated section to begin with which clearly states the rhythms associated with the Tango, followed by a contrasting more wistful romantic middle section, which has the Cuban Habanera elements present, from which a Tango is derived. Then the piece returns to the first section taking it to a conclusion Jacaranda is in the key of concert C minor with the middle section in C major. The range is around two octaves and I have tried to keep all parts interesting and equal with shared moments of melodic and rhythmic interest. It also has wide dynamic contrasts and heavy accents, along with legato and staccato phrasing, all of which are effectively used in this genre. The whole score is on the youtube link for you to assess suitabilityIt is set to Intermediate level- it is 4 mins 40 in length and would make a lovely addition to any programme.
