Very Well, Indeed
This unique arrangement opens with the bass grounding the lilting, upper register – the running treble hand builds beautifully to a climax, punctuated by minor key changes (in triplet?) that engage your mind to the difference in a familiar melody – The music then ‘grounds’ your mind back to the verse, reflecting moments of trial or distress – before resolving – through a major chord agreement – a deepening of the verse – with a perspective that grows into an increasing crescendo of faith – Returns the running bass which serves to underscore a triumphal, ascending conclusion – Indeed, it is well with my soul.
