This song was inspired from repeated use of the words of its title by an elderly lady who did some "labor of love" secretarial work for me. Her roots were in southern Indiana, and she often responded to evidences of the providential working of God by exclaiming, "Now Preacher, isn't that just like the Lord?!" She is in heaven now, but I can still hear her excited, mid South accent, saying those delightful words. The music was composed by Gospel legend, Elmo Mercer, who spent 20 years as chief editor for Benson Music in Nashville and wrote, "Each Step I Take" and "The Way That He Loves." The lyrics are a poetic celebration of God's work, both in creation and the human soul.
