A polyphonic elaboration (version B2) of "Vom Himmel hoch, da komm ich her" ("From Heaven Above to Earth I Come"), a sweet chorale extracted from the part 23 of the famous Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248), here in an arrangement for the classical Wind Octet (two Oboes, two Clarinets in Bb, two French Horns in F, two Bassoons) in which the phrasing follows the syllabation of the German lyrics, while dynamics are an interpretation of mine; in this version the Bach's Chorale has been self-intersected realizing a quadruple canon in modern free counterpoint at the upper fifth on a time shift of a quarter, with slight modifications of the original to avoid direct parallel octaves and too harsh dissonances.

Duration: 55".
