Here is the theme tune from the British detective series Inspector Morse. This was one of my favourite shows as a teenager, not only for the suspense from the drama, but also from this theme tune which used to haunt my rapidly-forming musical mind. The interplay between dissonance and consonance, the overall minor tonality with the slightly uplifting B section in the relative major, the intricate cross rhythms and, of course, the extremely clever use of morse code as an ostinato which glues it all together.
I have been honoured to revisit this childhood gem within this arrangement; I hope you enjoy performing it as much as I did arranging it. Wedding programmes and general recitals will benefit from this arrangement.
