Iinspired by selected verses of Psalm 31 (A psalm of David). Written in memory of a church musician, the anthem is a strong affirmation of a faith, which triumphs over human suffering. Based on the tune FREU DICH SEHR/PSALM 42/GENEVAN 42. It opens with an assertive unison statement, later harmonized, and gathers momentum culminating in a convincing ending with the congregation joining to sing the hymn tune, Rustington. The optional brass quintet and timpani will add support and strength to the confident nature of the anthem. A reproducible page for congregation is included in the anthem. The organist may play from either the full score or the choral score.
