In the beginning was the end
the title of this work for accordion and harpsichord is also that of a poem by gwendolyn macewen, which is included in the score. this is not a porgrammatic piece and is not meant to be. but like sound that comes from silence and goes into silence, silence is sound is silence. and so, the beginning is the end is the beginning. this is a work that explores those sources and what happens between them, only to return back onto the circle/cycle of life and all things universal.

In the Beginning was the End
This is a work commissioned by Joseph Macerollo and Vivienne Spiteri who have recorded it on JALSAGHAR, a CentreDiscs release in late 2010. The piece extends from almost inaudible floating ethereal sounds to inner sections of forceful rhythmic exchanges between the two instruments. It is refreshing to hear the timbral overlap between the two instruments (accordion and harpsichord).
