The key to performing this piece is nuance. In and of itself it is not particularly very difficult, but the nuances give color and tell a story. For example see measure 28 where the right hand has the melody, then compare it to a similar measure in 42 where the right hand must be played quietly in order to make the melody in the left hand prominent.
Notice too that at the end of the piece the music introduced by both hands in the beginning is now brought back in the left hand only, with a light ostinato in the right hand.
The imagery of the piece is that of stars coming out at night, soon to be accompanied by energetic dances by firelight; firelight that sparks up towards the sky and the soothing silence of ... the stars.
