In Lincoln's Shadow was commissioned by MatthewWeyant and theTri-Valley High School Band in Grahamsville, NY for their trip to Washington, DC on Memorial Day Weekend, 2009. It was performed in front of the Lincoln Memorial on Memorial Day by the Reflecting Pool.
The piece is meant to convey an appreciation and reflection for President Lincoln and all he endured.We are a sum of our experiences, our past. The choices President Lincoln made, the decisions he put into action have helped make us who we are today.
