He was educated in the field of organ playing at the Conservatoire in Berlin and Leipzig . From 1890 , he was the artistic director and director of the orchestra of the Poznań Music Society . In the years 1906 - 1909 he was the choirmaster of the Warsaw Philharmonic . From 1906 to 1924 he was a professor of organ playing at the Music Institute in Warsaw , and from 1909 he taught counterpoint . His most famous work are Improvisations on the Polish church song 'Saint God' op. 38. It rests at the Powązki Cemetery in Warsaw (section 99, row 6, place 10).
