In setting Bäume im Frühling, Juninacht, Herbstsonett, and Winter, my aim was not to illustrate nature, but to capture the atmosphere and quiet inwardness that permeates Zweig’s language. The music seeks a tone of clarity, warmth, and restraint, expressing the afterglow of Romanticism — a world still luminous, yet already aware of its transience.
Im Wandel der Zeiten is therefore both a reflection on the beauty of the seasons and a meditation on the passage of time.
