Key: Bb major.

Bilhorn was a late 19th century/early 20th century singer, musician, inventor, and hymnist from Mendota, Illinois. Rawley was a late 19th century/20th century pastor, advisor, and hymnist from New Hampshire. He was also an early animal rights activist, as well as a good friend of Bilhorn. This revival gospel hymn was used for evangelistic services of the late 1800's and early 1900's. The song is a praise for Christ's work on the Cross. Sections A and C are the exposition which are in a meter of three. Sections B and D are the chorus and switch to a meter of four. A modulation to a new key occurs towards the end of section B with the help of a German augmented sixth chord. A descant by yours truly is then added at section C, where the piece should be played more majectically.
