Soon to be a standard
I recently heard this beautiful piece performed by Choral Arts Seattle. It was an emotionally moving work that I'm sure will become a standard of choral repertoire. I look forward to hearing it again. For new music, it doesn't get much better than this!

Chills
This is one of those pieces that gives you chills every time, whether you perform it or listen to it. The lines are intuitive to sing yet result in a sound that is something special.

Gorgeous!
I had the opportunity to sing I Will Lift Mine Eyes with Composer Jake Runestad in April 2011. In addition to being breathtakingly beautiful, it is not overly-challenging to learn. I would highly recommend this piece for any ensemble.

Beautiful
I have heard this song many times, and I have to say I never get enough of it. The sound always makes me want more. I believe that is God's love. The more you hear His Word, the more you want of HIm. This song hits a place in my heart that can only be filled by God's love. Awsome music!

I Will Lift Mine Eyes
I had the pleasure of singing I Will Lift Mine Eyes by Jake Runestad in Spring, 2009 with the Peabody Singers. I found the piece achingly, stunningly beautiful. My sentiments were echoed by everyone else in the ensemble. Fantastic!

Beautiful piece!
Jake Runestad's I Will Lift Mine Eyes is a stunningly beautiful setting of Psalm 121. The marriage of text and music allows the words to ring clearly and the harmonies make the voices shimmer. His skill for vocal writing at such a young age is truly a gift.I highly recommend this piece to any choir looking to find the piece that will give both the performers and the listeners chills down their spines!
