I vespri Siciliani
This is the most well-known edition of the opera, and I believe the most recorded. There are very few changes between it and the original French version (which you can buy at this site, and I have that edition as well). The most noticeable is the cadenza in Elena's aria within the duet with Arrigo (in this version she descends from high C down a chromatic scale to an F sharp below middle C, that doesn't exist in the French version). By the way, Verdi did no work on the Italian version of the opera. So, what we have is editors and they did a pretty good job transferring the opera from French to Italian (though of course, some words were changed to fit the requirements in Italy).
