It became a big hit and was later recorded by "Queen of Soul" Aretha Franklin and also by Jamaican singer Diana King. The latter reggae version was featured prominently in the 1997 film comedy "My Best Friend's Wedding." Maybe that is part of the reason why it is often a special request for weddings.
