"I'm Looking Through You" is a song by the Beatles, released in 1965 on their album Rubber Soul. Credited to the duo Lennon & McCartney, it was written primarily by Paul, who wrote it about his then-girlfriend, actress Jane Asher. "You're not different, but you've changed," the lyrics declare, showing McCartney's dissatisfaction with his relationship at the time, which would soon end.The Beatles recorded the song in three versions in October and November 1965. The original version was slower than the one eventually released, and did not have the line "Why, tell me why...", which opens the chorus.
