I Lift My Lamp is an excellent patriotic song!
The Arizona Society Daughters of the American Revolution's Fall Forum in Scottsdale, AZ this October, 2011 featured this song at the banquet night. I led the Arizona Singers and spoke the beautiful poem included during the piece with a mic. The women loved singing it, the accompanist played the not too difficult piece very well and I loved leading it! It was perfect for our tribute to the Statue of Liberty Theme evening and there were many tears after the dramatic conclusion. I recommend also, if you have only a limited time to rehearse as we do (we come from all over the state and practice one hour the day of performance) that you also purchase the CD offered at the top of the music for the singers to rehearse with to start. I will use the accompaniment CD to perform this song on my own or with my sister who I perform with too. I am so grateful to have found such an inspiring and beautiful song honoring our Lady Libery.
