This Christmas classic arranged for Jazz Ensemble has all of the contemporary trimmings for your holiday concert! The intro features a brass chorale before giving way to a broken-16th groove with optional auxiliary percussion. The melody is set against a variety of fresh harmonies, textures and rhythmic interplay. The song form has been enhanced with a newly composed interlude and some hoilday quotes. A brief return of the brass chorale sets up a rubato piano solo that leads to the climactic closing section. There are also solos opportunities for guitar and tenor saxophone.
