A wonderful Christmas piece, "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day" is presented here in a straightforward version that can be played by handbells, tone chimes or hand chimes. Using 23 bells from a standard two octave set, it rises above a beginner song through the use of chromatic harmonies and shifting meters. It is a brief one to one and a half minute arrangement that would work well in a worship setting as an introit, or as a short interlude in a concert setting.
