Three days of love, peace and music August 15-18 (actually lasted 3 and 1/2 days) on Max Yasgur's farm in New York.There is a plan to have a celebration to mark the occasion. To commemorate this occasion, this is the first of many arrangements of the iconic songs of the festival that I plan to write. Whenever possible I will use the actually Woodstock recordings as the arrangement. This beautiful song by John Sebastian is the first song on the Woodstock Soundtrack triple album. John was the 4th performer on the second day. This is the third song in his set (according to Wikipedia). This arrangement is in 4-part harmony throughout. It is a simple song that epitomizes the folk music of the time as well as the festival itself. Duration = 2:35.
