Requested and tested with my own trombone students, this arrangement works well for those in their second or third year of playing who are learning to keep their 8th notes steady and are approaching counting syncopated rhythms.
Teaching Idea: visually show the student, after learning this arrangement, how the rhythm in "I Fought the law" ( 8th, 8th tied to an 8th, then an 8th) can be rewritten as 8th, quarter, 8th to reinforce internal 8th note subdividing.
