I set a goal to create arrangements of some of my favorite hymns and this was at the top of the list. I felt like the introduction had to be gospel style and bold. The melody then reverts to a gentle sound at the beginning of the verse. It builds again to repeat the bold, gospel style and finishes gently. This would be a great choice for an offertory. I hope that you enjoy playing my arrangement of “I’d Rather Have Jesus”.
