a classic 1936 popular song composed by Vernon Duke with lyrics by Ira Gershwin. Introduced in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1936 by Bob Hope and Eve Arden, the song is famous for its witty, topical lyrics about high-achieving success contrasted with romantic failure.
This is a fun song to learn and play, with several substitution chords applied throught the arrangement. It is arranged for intermediate through advanced pianists. The steadiness of the left hand bass note, followed by the chord produces an easy application for the right hand melody throughout the song.
