In 1970 the famous French composer Serge Lancen (Paris, 1922) wrote the very successful 'Hymn to Music'. Now he wanted to compose this 'Hymn to the Musicians' to honour those for whom he has written all those years and who make him happy by playing his music with pleasure. In this lyrical hymn the different instrument groups first come to the fore and then the whole group expresses the joy of making music in a wind band.
