Hymn Tune Reharmonizations Organ Solo - Digital Sheet Music

These works are part of a larger body of arrangements for organ that began over forty years ago, from the needs and opportunities that arose in the course of playing for weekly Sunday morning church services. Twelve are reharmonizations suitable for last verse congregational hymn singing or perhaps a simple, short prelude or postlude. Three are introductions suitable for use before congregational singing of the hymn. Several of the tunes are associated with traditional hymns, while others are from the gospel tradition of the 19th and early 20th century. Skill level requirements are generally from early intermediate to intermediate. For a moderately skilled organist, some are almost sight-readable. None wander far from the tune, so even congregations not accustom to last verse reharmonizations should find them familiar to the ear and supportive of engaged, energetic singing.
