Published by Dr. Gregory Hamilton (A0.771694).Hymn of Peace was written for the American Cellist Dr. Diane Winder, and premiered in 2019 with the composer at the piano. The performance was part of the Eastern Michigan University festival of New Music. The dramatic opening builds through a variety of strong gestures and textures from gritty to gentle, to a passacaglia-like section which builds in intensity. The final section, a simple canon in c major resolved the tension presented earlier. The performance should be broad, bold dramatic and declamatory.
