It worked spectacularly. The song, rooted in Roan's childhood dream of becoming a cheerleader, became a generational phenomenon as enormous festival audiences spelled out H-O-T-T-O-G-O in unison. David Maddux's TTBB arrangement stays true to the song's hyper-80s dance-pop DNA, handing the built-in audience participation directly to the chorus — and virtually guaranteeing that no audience will be sitting down by the time the final spelling is complete.
