The keyboard part (Rhodes and synth patch) includes notated modern fourth voicings to compliment the slow, simmering funk laid down by the bass and drums. A surprise key change for the shout section leads back to a reprise of the head with rhythms and contrapuntal lines hopscotching around the main tune, bringing the piece to an exciting conclusion.
