The well-known plainchant 'Hodie (Christus natus est)' is here given a set of responses for satb choir (some divisi).
The chant is sung by a soloist with responses sung by the choir. The singers come together at 'Gloria in excelsis Deo'. Ideally, the soloist and choir should be placed apart from each other for an antiphonal effect. The setting is not too challenging and should provide a moving addition to a Christmas programme.
The copy includes the original chant, which might be sung earlier in the concert, an open score, performance notes and a score with part for rehearsal piano.
