Scotland is famed for its rich landscapes and proud heritage. It is also the country that is known for 'housing' the Loch Ness Monster. The Dutch composer Henk Hogestein used the Scottish Highland Games as a source of inspiration for this rugged three-movement work. Henk Hogestein s'est inspire des Hautes-Terres pour realiser Highland Games (Jeux des Highlands), une promenade musicale a travers trois des nombreux evenements culturels et sportifs annuels : un Concours de Pipe Band (ensemble de cornemuses) a Inverness ; le tournoi international de tir a la corde d'Aberfeldy au cœur des legendaires monts Grampian, et le tournoi de chevaliers a Balmoral qui se conclut par une trepidante danse du sabre ecossaise.
