Dirigent Feike van Tuinen studeerde compositie bij Daan Manneke aan het Sweelinck conservatorium te Amsterdam. Een bezoek aan Hever Castle in Zuidoost Engeland inspireerde hem tot het schrijven van deze compositie voor flexibele bezetting. Vier delen nemen je mee terug in de tijd: I Entry of the royal family; II Dance of the playing children; III Walking through the garden; en IV Dancing in the ballroom.
Conductor Feike van Tuinen studied composition with Daan Manneke at the Amsterdam Sweelinck Conservatory of music. A visit to Hever Castle in the South-East of England inspired him to write this composition for flexible instrumentation. We make a walk in the past by means of four historical episodes: I Entry of the royal family; II Dance of the playing children; III Walking through the garden; and IV Dancing in the ballroom.
