Score and parts of a powerful orchestral sonata movement in A major with 3 themes (the first adapted after Bruckner's Sixth and Seventh Symphonies, the second after Beethoven's Piano Trio Op. 70 no. 2), slightly revised for the bicentenary of Bruckner's birth. Other textures in the expository sections allude to Mendelssohn and Handel, while the development and the extended, elaborate coda are mostly contrapuntal. Although it is simpler and more straightforward, especially harmony-wise, than Bruckner's style, it may serve as an introduction for those interested in his orchestral idiom. Otherwise, based on its strong structure and drive, which are doubled by prominent rhythms, it could be a powerful concert overture, in homage to the classical and romantic styles.
