Derek Hasted writes "My former adult ensemble group has played this in concert and it’s a lot of fun!
It will suit an early intermediate quartet or a large mixed-ability ensemble.
In this piece, there are crotchets (quarter notes), dotted crotchets and quavers (eighth notes), and it’s only the first that need to be clipped short. You’ll find that this imparts energy to the piece and maintains the "drive" without making the piece sound abrupt or clumsy.
There are chord names above the 3-note chords in the Guitar 3 part; in a large mixed ability ensemble, the more senior players can strum 5 or 6-string versions of those chords. Indeed, the occasional rasping "rasgueado" will add yet more passion to the piece.
Guitar 4 is supplied in both treble and bass clefs - they are the same notes, so either or both versions can be used in your performances.I hope you enjoy performing this!"
