This very brief piece was written in honor of the 80th birthday of Dutch composer, Henk Badings in 1987. In 1983, Professor Badings composed an equally brief piece on the occasion of my daughter Katharine’s birth. His piece was scored for three equal voices and titled “A Song for Katharine.” I have scored this birthday piece for four equal voices with soprano solo. It should be performed with one voice per part.
