This Shorty Rogers arrangement was written for the Terry Gibbs Dream Band in the late 1950s but it was not recorded. It was originally written around the Gershwin melody I Got Rhythm, but didn't contain any of the original tune in the arrangement. Many years later Terry wanted to use this arrangement for a Steve Allen 75th birthday concert (1997) but was not able to due to the cost of licensing the composition. So, he wrote a new melody to go with the arrangement. This melody, titled Here It Is, is based on 'Rhythm' changes. The tune is played as a duet between vibes and trumpet. For performance, if you wish, it would be easy to substitute any 'Rhythm' changes melody in place of this one. This also features a solo for piano. Ranges: Trumpet 1: to D6; Trombone 1: to B5.
