A beautiful arrangement for steel string acoustic or classical guitar that preserves the natural simplicity and lightness of the original while utilising the full range of the acoustic guitar. It begins with an abbreviation of the main theme of the song in natural harmonics and moves to a development of the melody in the treble in the first position balanced with runs in the base in the first, fifth, and seventh positions. The arrangement rounds off with an echo of the abbreviation in natural harmonics. I like to think of the natural harmonics in the beginning and at the end of the piece as stars that can still be seen just before sunrise and stars that are just becoming visible at sunset, with warm and welcome sunshine in between.
