Martyn Johnson #1122003. Published by Martyn Johnson (A0.1549640).This is my version of Lionel Richie classic piece. It works so well as a piano solo. I use a combination of arpeggiated figures and stride piano combinations in the left hand to support the freely interpreted melody in the right.
I take it through through two keys A minor as originally written and the modulate it to Bbm a semi-tone up.
I don't include dynamics, fingering or pedal marks as I prefer to leave this to the individual pianists interpretation as no teachers would ever agree on what is correct on these matters. I do however include chord symbols which I find one of the most important pieces of information when learning or memorising a tune.
Please note also this is a piano solo and doesn't include notation for the other instruments on my YouTube version. I write all my arrangements as piano solos first so it sounds perfect as such.
