Heitere Overture Op. 27 F.s. by Philipp Mohler Chamber Orchestra - Sheet Music

By Philipp Mohler

Joseph Haas was the teacher, Paul Hindemith the model of the director of many years' standing of the Frankfurter Musikhochschule. The Heitere Suite" was created in 1945. After a slow introduction (quasi rezitativo) with a viola solo full of suspense, the first violins start playing a succinct, rhythmically accentuated theme dominat-ing the whole movement and appearing in many different forms. Lively intensifications and, not least, the occasional soloistic use of the instruments are giving colour to this work. A valu-able addition to our concert programmes of moderate modern style".
