To hear the light at least to me, means to perceive the deeper ways light affects us. I usually take a break and often sit out in the middle of my big open field. I will watch the light as it slowly moves across the landscape. It is always changing, always shifting. This piece for string quartet hopes to capture inanimate abstract way using the tools of music and performance the feeling of following the path of light. Our nearest star, the Sun gives us life, warmth, illumination in a dark, cold universe. Even sound and music are part of the waves we call light. Music is a form of light. Hearing the Light is a good piece for a quartet to show it's depth and ability to express deeper aspects. Become light.
