The text of Hatikvah was written in 1878 by Naftali Herz Imber, a Jewish poet from Poland.
In the 1980s this was arranged for classical guitar for the first time by Eric Charles Mokotoff and was donated to the Yivo Institute for Jewish research, it has been revised in 2020 by Eric Charles Mokotoff for classical guitar. .
