Happiness Is A Thing Called Joe by Bob Brookmeyer Big Band - Sheet Music

By Bob Brookmeyer

This arrangement was written by Bob Brookmeyer for Terry Gibbs's 1956 EmArcy record titled 'Swingin' with the Terry Gibbs Orchestra.' This arrangement was originally written for five saxes, four trumpets, and four trombones. In addition, the solo was originally played on mellophone by Don Elliott. It was adapted to the current instrumentation when it entered the Dream Band book, and the solo moved to trombone 2. Much of the original trombone 4 part is now in the baritone sax. Alternate soloist parts have been included so that this may be played with any featured instrumentalist.
