University. Each year, the school’s anatomy program, which relies on full-body donations for the students to begin
the physical aspects of their learning, has a memorial service for the families of the school’s body donors. I have been
directing a choir consisting of a subset of these anatomy students for years now, and one year, a student asked me if
we could sing Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah. I knew it might be tough to find an appropriate arrangement for the choir
with the time and resources I had, but I liked the idea, so I created this arrangement, and we performed it at the
memorial service.
