Written by Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen back in the '80s, this powerful song has reached almost legendary status with its frequent usage in TV and movies. Recorded by such diverse artists as Bob Dylan, Bon Jovi and Justin Timberlake, it was also used in the first Shrek movie and most recently during the 2010 Winter Olympics opening ceremony in Vancouver. Excellent Choice for Developing Bands
Michael Brown's arrangement of "Hallelujah" is a fantastic addition to any school band library. The Grade 3 level is perfectly pitched for intermediate students, offering an engaging piece without overwhelming technical demands. Hal Leonard's typical clear engraving ensures easy readability for all parts. It's great for teaching ensemble blend, rhythmic precision, and musicality with a recognizable, beloved tune.

Impressive
This version is wonderful. Purchased for a small community band, with 18 players and only 2 Clarinets for the first read it was deemed to be a show stopper by the director. Another band in Indiana purchased the Flex Band version, and it really fails IMHO. Think of community band Trumpets playing arpeggios with Clarinets etc. Easy enough to play for earlier players, but really is music when played properly.
